A baby girl who was reported as possibly drowning in Antioch Tuesday afternoon has been pronounced dead, the Contra Costa County coroner’s office confirmed.
Contra Costa County Fire Protection District initially responded at about 1 p.m. to a report that a toddler had possibly drowned in the 1900 block of Evergreen Avenue.
Responding fire crews found Antioch police officers already giving the girl CPR, Fire Inspector Steve Aubert said. She was then taken to Sutter Delta Medical Center but later died.
