Police arrested a 33-year-old man Saturday evening after he allegedly engaged in a lewd act in front of a woman and her 5-year-old daughter as they walked on a Vacaville street.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m., as the woman and her daughter were walking to a nearby park on Hemlock Street, according to police.
As they were walking, the suspect drove up alongside the sidewalk, facing the wrong direction, and engaged in inappropriate behavior, police said.
The suspect, later identified as Fairfield resident Erick Rangelsantiago, then drove away, according to police.
The woman and her child quickly crossed the street. Allegedly, Rangelsantiago then turned his vehicle around and pulled up to the victims once more, continuing the inappropriate behavior.
After driving away the second time, the woman contacted police and gave officers a detailed description of the suspect and his vehicle, including the license plate number, police said.
Responding officers located Rangelsantiago’s vehicle just minutes later and were able to detain him, according to police.
After the victim positively identified him, officer arrested Rangelsantiago on suspicion of indecent exposure.
It was not immediately known if the 5-year-old girl witnessed the inappropriate behavior, police said.
Rangelsantiago was booked into the Solano County Jail.
