FBI agent’s stolen gun recovered

A gun that was stolen from an FBI agent’s vehicle on Sunday near Alamo Square in San Francisco has been recovered from a home in The City’s Bayview District, FBI officials said Tuesday.

An FBI SWAT team recovered the gun, a .40-caliber Glock 27, after a search of a home near Keith Street and Thomas Avenue around 11 a.m. today, officials said.

FBI investigators were able to track the gun to that location using surveillance footage taken near where the gun was stolen, near Hayes and Pierce streets, between 12:30 and 12:40 p.m. Sunday.

One person was taken into custody during this morning’s search, but that person’s identity has not yet been released.

The agent’s credentials and ID badge, which were also stolen from the vehicle, remain missing.
