Cal Fire officials said a nearly 3,900-acre wildfire in unincorporated Monterey County that injured one firefighter is 100 percent contained.
The Metz Fire was contained to 3,876 acres by 6:15 p.m. Wednesday and did not damage any structures, Cal Fire spokesman Jonathan Pangburn said.
The injured firefighter suffered a sprained foot.
The fire started at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday near Metz Road and Blue Jay Lane southeast of Soledad.
The cause is under investigation, according to Pangburn.
When it started, the fire threatened to damage power transmission lines, which could have caused a major power loss in Monterey County.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire from the lines, Pangburn said.
