Bomb threat evacuates Washington High

George Washington High School in San Francisco’s Central Richmond District is currently being evacuated after school officials received a bomb threat, prompting a lockdown at three schools earlier this morning.

Students were released from the school, located at 599 30th Ave., around 12:30 p.m., according to San Francisco Unified School District officials.

Students who take the bus were walked out by school officials and guided to their buses. Students who needed to be picked up were taken to Lafayette Elementary School at 4545 Anza St. to wait for their rides, school district officials said.

San Francisco Municipal Railway has sent buses for the 31 and 38 lines to the school. Additionally, school district buses were also sent for students, according to school district officials.

Around 10:45 a.m., school officials at the high school received a call from a person who said they were near the school and had a bomb, school district officials said.

Police responded to the scene and sealed a perimeter around the high school.

Nearby Lafayette Elementary School and Presidio Middle School have been placed on lockout as a precaution, according to district officials.
