Teen boy suspected of burglarizing home

Police arrested a 14-year-old boy Wednesday after he tried to burglarize a Sausalito home, but was interrupted by a resident.

Around 10 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary in the 200 block of Woodward Avenue, according to police.

The resident said the suspect had entered the home through an unlocked door and tried to steal a computer, police said.

When the suspect realized the resident was home, the suspect dropped the computer and fled the scene on foot, according to police.

After the victim gave a description of the suspect, police, along with help with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, were able to locate the suspect near Bridgeway and Nevada Street.

The teen suspect was ultimately arrested on suspicion of burglary and booked into the Marin County Juvenile Detention Center, police said.
