Woman killed in Antioch shooting

A shooting at an Antioch convenience store this morning left a woman dead and a man injured, according to police.

Antioch police have taken a man into custody in connection with the shooting, which officers responded to at 7:11 a.m. at the Quik Stop store at 2760 W. Tregallas Road.

Responding officers found a 27-year-old woman fatally shot and a 27-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound, police said. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Both victims were Antioch residents.

The suspect, also an Antioch resident, was taken into custody in front of the Antioch Police Department at 300 L St. shortly after the shooting, police said.

The shooting is still under investigation. Antioch police were not providing additional details on the case as of this morning.
