Police are asking for the public’s help to find a person of interest in connection with a sexual assault that took place at a hotel in San Francisco’s Financial District early Sunday morning.
Around 1:30 a.m., a 23-year-old woman was walking in the Financial District when she met a man, according to police.
The two engaged in conversation, before they entered a hotel nearby.
Once inside the hotel, the suspect sexually assaulted the woman.
After the assault, the suspect fled, police said.
The suspect was described as a medium complexion man between the ages of 25 and 30 years old, five feet eight inches tall. Additionally, the suspect told the victim his name was Sergio, according to police.
Police were able to gather surveillance video of the suspect.
Police are investigating to see whether the assault is connected to a similar incident that happened in the same area on March 26, police said.
