Nose gear collapses as plane lands in Oakland

No injuries were reported Sunday afternoon when the nose gear of a plane collapsed as it was landing at Oakland International Airport.

At 12:06 p.m., fire officials received a report that the nose gear of a plane had collapsed, according to Oakland Fire Battalion Chief Coy Justice.

The nose gear apparently failed, causing damage to the front of the plane. The plane was flying low and traveling at a low speed at the time, Justice said.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were on board at the time.
