Obama jets out of SF after fundraising events

After attending two Democratic fundraisers Friday and playing some golf this morning, President Barack Obama this afternoon left the Bay Area.

Obama boarded Air Force One, along with daughter Malia Obama, and left around 2:30 p.m. to return to Joint Base Andrews in Washington D.C.

After arriving Friday afternoon, the president attended a Democratic National Committee event at a private residence in San Francisco for 25 supporters who reportedly paid up to $33,400 to attend, according to White House press pool reports.

After that fundraiser, Obama attended a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraising dinner at the home of Ann and Gordon Getty in San Francisco. Nancy Pelosi also attended the event.

The president said during the event:

“The reason we’re here is because we think a Democratic Congress is good for America. And I would ask that you join me and Nancy and these outstanding members of Congress over the next 10 months to make sure that we are fulfilling our responsibilities as citizens, and make sure we get a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate and a Democratic President.”

Earlier this morning, Obama stopped by The Olympic Club, located at 599 Skyline Blvd. in San Francisco, to play some golf before heading back to Washington D.C., White House press pool reports said.

The trip is Obama’s second to the Bay Area this year. In February, Obama attended a Democratic National Committee event at the home of former state Controller Steve Westly and Anita Yu in Atherton, as well as a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee event in Palo Alto and spent the night in Milpitas.
