Person shot near Fairfield middle school

Fairfield police said a person was shot this morning near Grange Middle School.

Multiple reports of shots fired in the 1800 block of Blossom Avenue were reported at 9:04 a.m. and a shooting victim was found at the scene, police said.

The school was temporarily placed on lockdown but there currently is no threat to the school or the community, police said.

The shooting victim is not associated with the school, and the investigation is still in its early stages, according to police.
