A’s take over Oracle with trick shots and shootouts

For the past two years the Golden State Warriors have ridden utter dominance at 7000 Coliseum Way in Oakland on their way to becoming beskatball’s best team.

In search of their own serving of home-cooked excellence at the same address, the Oakland Athletics enjoyed a little shootaround Prior to thier final pre-season game, Satuday.

Serving its main purpose as a fun workout, A’s Manager Bob Melvin was surprised by the athleticism on dispaly. As well as the shott:

“You find out who the athletes are. And who the athletes aren’t… We try to do something every sping to kind of mix it up a little bit.”

The athleticism of Melvin’s squad was on displayt in many forms. From relief pitcher John Axford knocking down a Rick Barry-esque, underhanded granny-style shot from seats:

In order to keep a level of competition within the entertainment, however, the team held shooting competitions n borh free-throw and three-point shooting. The winners of which were rewarded autograohed jerseys from the Warrios’ All-Star “Splash Brothers.” Though none of the Warriors player were in attendance, due to a morning parctice, Klay Thompson, who Melvin said usually attends similar events being a “big A’s fan”, took the time to add a personalized message to his autographed jersey:

“To the A’s. Thanks for the hospitality year in and year out!”

As for the winners of the shooting competition, Melvin learned a bit from what he saw:

“(Ryan) Brasier won the free-throw (shooting competition) and (Chris) Bassitt won the 3-point… I was surprised how good a basketball player Bassitt is, he dunks pretty easy and he moves around pretty well. And, actually, Ryan Dull holds his own with a little bit of an unorthodox shot.
