A southbound Caltrain struck and killed a pedestrian Sunday evening in Santa Clara, Caltrain officials said.
Southbound Caltrain 442 hit the pedestrian at about 7:50 p.m. near the Santa Clara Station and De La Cruz Boulevard, Caltrain spokeswoman Jayme Ackemann said.
Investigators are holding the train until they complete a brief investigation.
Trains will be single-tracking around the collision, Caltrain officials said.
