A woman’s finger was nearly severed when a vehicle struck her as she attempted to cross the street in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood early Friday morning.
At 1:32 a.m., officers responded to a hit-and-run at the corner of Mission and 10th streets, according to police.
The victim, a 38-year-old woman, was heading north on 10th Street.
When she crossed the street inside the crosswalk, a vehicle that was traveling west on Mission Street struck her, police said.
The victim suffered a laceration to her head, as well as the injury to her finger. She was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The suspect vehicle was described as a gray sedan and was last seen driving on 10th Street, according to police.
