Raiders sign Marquette King to extension

Donning a black long sleeve shirt, punter Marquette King signed a long term contract extension with the Oakland Raiders.

King is arguably the best punter in the NFL, and will be with the silver in black whether they are in Oakland, Mexico or Los Angeles.

Originally signing with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2012, King spent his rookie year on injured reserve, but displaced pro bowl punter Shane Lechler as a special team maven.

Over the last three seasons King has totaled 276 punts for 12,734 yards, with 94 punts downed inside the opponents’ 20-yard line.

The Raiders have several other unrestricted free agents who might test the market soon, including left tackle Donald Penn, receiver Rod Streater, and guard J’Marcus Webb.
