Two people are dead after a solo vehicle collision Sunday afternoon in Vallejo, according to police.
Police said officers responded at 3:17 p.m. to reports of a vehicle collision at a rear parking lot at 601 Sacramento St.
Upon arrival, police said they located a 1998 Toyota Camry that had struck a cement wall surrounding the lot and the two people inside were critically injured.
The right front passenger, an unidentified female, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver, a 72-year-old female Vallejo resident, was transported by air to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injures.
According to police, the vehicle was traveling south in the parking lot and failed to make the proper left turn before leaving the roadway and colliding with the cement wall.
Police said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this incident, and the collision is still under investigation.
