Twin sisters win $6 million in lottery

Twin sisters who share everything are $6 million richer after one sister bought a winning Scratchers ticket in San Ramon recently, according to lottery officials.

Lisa Toton told lottery officials she saw a yellow ladybug, which she interpreted as a “sign” to buy a California Lottery ticket. The winning ticket was on the $10 Set For Life Scratchers game.

Lottery officials said Toton texted her sister Laura Poorman while she was at work telling her that they had won $6 million. Poorman then met her fraternal twin sister at a lottery district office to claim the prize.

The lucky ticket was purchased at a Fast & Easy Mart located at 2820 Crow Canyon Road. The business will receive a $30,000 retailer bonus prize, lottery officials said.

The sisters now must choose between getting a monthly payment of $20,000 for the next 25 years or take a lump sum of around $3,480,000 before federal taxes.
