The Sheriff’s office is investigating an armed robbery at a Carmel residence Saturday afternoon.
Officers responded at 3:50 p.m. to a home located on North Mesa Drive, according to sheriff’s officials.
Two suspects, armed with a machete and a wrench, allegedly forced their way into the home through a side door and threatened the home’s two elderly residents.
The suspects stole several items including cash, jewelry, a laptop computer and a video game console. The loss is estimated to be over $60,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
The suspects then fled on foot before entering an older white sedan parked nearby, sheriff’s officials said.
There were no reported injuries during the robbery.
The suspects were described as two males in their 20’s, both around six feet tall with slender builds, according to sheriff’s officials.
