A 21-year-old man was sent to the hospital early Monday morning after he was shot and robbed in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood.
At 4:18 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting and robbery in the 300 block of Murray Street, according to police.
The victim had been sitting in his car when a man approached and brandished a handgun. The suspect then shot into the vehicle, striking the victim in his hand, police said.
The suspect grabbed the victim’s property, including his keys, from the vehicle and fled on foot toward nearby St. Mary’s Playground.
The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Officers were unable to apprehend the suspect, described as a man between 18 and 20 years old, police said.
