The security at Super Bowl City in San Francisco was about as high as it could be, and several couples and families in attendance told SFBay that they were happy about the increased presence and that they felt safe because of it.
Security lines wrapped around the Ferry Building Marketplace with hundreds waiting, though the delays were short according to those in the queue around 3 p.m.
Tom, a 52 year old guest of the festivities at Super Bowl City, said:
“I’m very happy to see the show of force. I think it’s really good and that’s appropriate. I like that a lot of police are around. The security coming in is unavoidable, but necessary. Our wait was only 10 minutes, and that part is going well.”
After the ISIS attacks in Paris and threats made to a WWE event in Atlanta, the Super Bowl is attracting a high level of attention from police.
20 people who spoke with SFBay all agreed that the the heightened security was necessary and appreciated, despite having assault rifles and bomb squad vehicles in clear view of children.

I don't mind the large amounts of regular police, but having the militarized police there does not make me feel safer. Are they really going to shoot someone in a dense crowd? The police should be there to protect, not intimidate.
