The body of woman reported missing from Oakland a week ago was found in San Francisco Bay off Alameda Thursday afternoon, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau.
The body of Diana Hajisaari, 62, of Berkeley, was found at 2:45 p.m. behind a residential area in the 3300 block of Fernside Boulevard.
Hajisaari also went by Gail Saari. Her colleagues at the Independent Institute at 100 Swan Way near the Oakland airport said she went missing at about 10:30 a.m. Friday, leaving her purse, keys, phone and other possessions behind.
She was possibly spotted at about noon that day at nearby Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline Park. Police searched that area Friday night but were unable to find her.
Her cause of death was not immediately disclosed.
