At 10:50 a.m., the officer was responding to a report of an armed suspect when the collision occurred in the intersection of Westmoor Avenue and state Highway 35, also known as Skyline Boulevard, police said.
The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The driver of the other vehicle complained of shoulder pain but declined medical assistance.
No other details about the crash were immediately available. The traffic division of Daly City Police Department is investigating the collision.
