A suspect armed with a knife was killed Friday night in an officer-involved shooting in Palo Alto, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.
Officers responded at 9:16 p.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Forest Avenue on a report a person at the residence wanted to harm another person, police said.
When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect charged at the officers with a knife and was shot, police said.
The suspect was transported to the hospital and later died.
The suspect’s identity has not been released.
No officers were injured during the incident.
Investigators with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene to conduct a parallel investigation with the Palo Alto Police Department.
