A traffic alert has been issued Friday morning for the northbound Interstate Highway 880 connector to the Bay Bridge in Oakland after 12 vehicles collided including two box trucks, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
CHP officials issued the alert at 9:53 a.m. and two lanes were blocked in the collision that had one person trapped and one truck is on top of another, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.
The first report of the collision came in at 9:35 a.m. and the fire department was at the collision site, Anderson said.
