Surfer rescued from under Golden Gate Bridge

The United States Coast Guard pulled a distressed surfer out of the water Saturday afternoon below the toll plaza of the Golden Gate Bridge, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The surfer in distress was reported at 1:18 p.m., and firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 1:20 p.m.

By 1:25 p.m., however, the surfer had been rescued by a Coast Guard utility boat that had been in the area, according to firefighters.

No injuries were reported.
