Police are seeking a suspect who is accused of stealing five mail packages from a Palo Alto residence last week.
Police released a video Friday of a man who stole five packages from the front porch of a Palo Alto home almost one week ago.
The packages that cost $600 in all were delivered to a home in the 2700 block of South Court on Saturday while the victim was out of town, police said.
The victim, a woman in her 40s, returned to her residence on Thursday when she discovered the theft occurred and notified police around 10:45 a.m.
The home’s video surveillance system captured the suspect at the front porch shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday, according to police.
It appeared the suspect was driving through the neighborhood where he spotted the packages while passing the home, made a U-turn and parked in front of the residence, police said.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 25 and 30 years old, standing between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build and mustache, according to police.
He wore a black T-shirt with a red “Superman” logo on the front, an unzipped white sweatshirt with the hood up, blue pants and black sports sandals with white socks, police said.
He drove a vehicle described as a red 1990s four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Sentra, with tinted rear windows without hubcaps last seen heading south, according to police.
