Transient arrested in elementary school girl’s bathroom

A man who was allegedly found in a girl’s bathroom at a San Ramon elementary school shortly before noon Monday was arrested, police said.
At 11:45 a.m., San Ramon police officers responded to Walt Disney Elementary School at 3250 Pine Valley Rd. based on calls about a man on school grounds inside the girl’s bathroom.
Responding officers contacted the suspect, described as a local transient, in the bathroom, police said. Police identified him as 34-year-old Edward Montez.
After conducting a preliminary investigation, police said it appears Montez made no verbal or physical contact with students.
Montez was arrested on suspicion of disrupting a school or its pupils and violating probation, police said. He was booked into Martinez Detention Facility.
