SFBay writers, photographers and editors have been honored with eight first-place awards by the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club for work published in 2014, including digital media news story of the year, best overall page design, and top writing honors in feature, sports, and business and technology categories.
The SFPPC awarded SFBay staff a total of 21 first-, second- and third-place awards in the Digital Media division for work from the 2014 calendar year.
Nearly 200 awards honored the work of 35 Bay Area media organizations. 2014 winners for overall excellence were South Bay Accent, First Place, Magazine/Trade Publications/Newsletters, India Currents, First Place, Digital Media, Palo Alto Weekly, First Place, Newspapers/Non-Daily, and The Press Democrat, First Place, Newspapers/Daily.
