SF, Sunnyvale residents hit by power outages

Two major power outages impacted thousands of utility customers in San Francisco and Sunnyvale Monday evening, according to PG&E.
One outage affecting a total of 4,692 customers was reported at 6:05 p.m. in San Francisco’s Bayview and Hunters Point neighborhoods.
That outage was caused by equipment failure at Thomas Avenue and Keith Street, and power had been restored to all customers by 6:40 p.m.
Another, smaller outage was reported earlier this evening in Sunnyvale at 5:26 p.m. A total of 2,162 customers have been impacted by the incident, but the cause remains under investigation.
At this point there is no estimate for when power will be restored, according to PG&E.
