A taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint in San Francisco’s Mission Terrace neighborhood early Monday morning, according to police.
The robbery was reported at 5:43 a.m. in the area of Mission Street and Persia Avenue.
The 43-year-old victim saw a suspect sitting in his taxi and rummaging through the vehicle. When the victim approached, the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened him, police said.
The suspect then took the victim’s tools, radio and vehicle registration document from the rear window of the taxi before walking away, according to police.
The suspect, described as a man in his early to mid 40s, remained at large today. Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
