A person was struck and killed by an eastbound Amtrak train in Richmond Thursday afternoon, an Amtrak spokeswoman said.
The person on the tracks was killed at about 3:15 p.m. about three miles north of the Berkeley station by a train headed from Oakland to Sacramento, Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said.
There were no injuries to the crew or to the more than 90 passengers on board, Graham said.
One track was still operating late this afternoon and passengers on the affected train were boarding another train. There are delays in the area.
The Contra Costa County coroner’s office is investigating, Graham said.
