An active shooter is on the loose in the area of California Pacific Medical Center’s St. Luke’s campus in San Francisco’s Mission District Tuesday afternoon, a police spokesman said.
Police first responded to reports of the shooter at the hospital at 3555 Cesar Chavez St. at about 4 p.m., according to police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza.
UPDATE 5:30 p.m. Police ‘neutralize’ St. Luke’s active shooter.A SWAT team was called to the area. Police have shut down streets nearby and are asking for residents to avoid the area.
Esparza did not immediately know if anyone was injured.
