A woman stabbed another woman, apparently in a dispute over child custody, Monday evening in San Francisco’s Bayview District, police said Tuesday.
At about 6 p.m. on Monday, the child’s 29-year-old mother went to the unit block of Rosie Lee Lane near Ingalls Street to pick up her child from the child’s father, police said.
When the mother went to the door, a 30-year-old woman answered and refused to give the child back to his mother, according to police.
A fight broke out and the woman who answered the door apparently stabbed the child’s mother in the thigh with a knife, police said.
Police said medics treated the victim and that the female suspect was subsequently arrested.
The incident remains under investigation.
