A 2-year-old child was struck by a vehicle as it backed out of a parking spot on Sunday afternoon in Concord, according to police.
The child is expected to survive the collision, which Concord police responded to at about 4:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of Clayton Road.
After their arrival, officers discovered that the child ran into a driveway and was struck by a vehicle traveling in reverse, police said.
Officers gave first aid to the child, who was taken to a hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening.
The driver cooperated with police. Drugs or alcohol are not being considered factors in the incident, police said.
