Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a homicide suspect accused of assaulting a 60-year-old man inside a San Francisco coffee shop last month.
On Oct. 1, shortly before 8 a.m., San Francisco resident Marc Garcia apparently walked into a coffee shop in the 1400 block of Van Ness Avenue, near Bush Street, and was verbally combative with people inside, police said.
He was assaulted by a man at the coffee shop. Garcia then left and collapsed outside. Paramedics responded and transported him to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Images of the suspect were captured on surveillance video. The suspect is believed to have been working in construction on the day the assault occurred, according to police.
The suspect is described as a man between 20 and 35 years old, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds with dark hair and possibly tattoos on his neck and arms. The suspect was last seen wearing white pants, a dark zip-up jacket, and had a blue messenger bag, according to police.
