A 21-year-old man was arrested on Friday in connection with a string of residential burglaries this month in Hercules, police said.
Hercules police officers arrested Matthew Gaudagne at around 11 a.m. Friday. Officers serving a search warrant recovered items at his Hercules residence that were from at least seven separate home burglaries, according to police.
Police said the burglaries date back to Oct. 15. Six of the burglaries occurred at homes in a neighborhood encompassing Promenade and Earnest streets as well as Taraya Way, police said. One occurred at a condominium in the 500 block of Athena Street.
Victims in these burglaries reported that items were stolen out of their garages in the late night or early morning hours, police said.
During a burglary on Oct. 29, one victim reportedly captured the suspect on video. A detective later identified the man as Gaudagne based on previous contacts, police said.
After officers executed a search warrant and allegedly found stolen items in his possession, Gaudagne was arrested and booked into Martinez Detention Facility on $350,000 bail.
