The Warriors final bench spot was claimed over the weekend.
Ian Clark, who has two seasons prior experience, beat out Jarrell Eddie, Chris Babb, Xavier Henry, Chris Udofia and Ben Gordon for the 15th spot on Golden State’s roster.
Said interim head coach Luke Walton:
“He competed, got after people on defense and proved to us he could score in quick segments. That role at the end of our bench might only get three minutes in a game. You’ve got to come in ready to make plays quickly. We think he can help us with that.”
Clark played both guard positions during the preseason, though Walton made it clear that practice was where the spot would be won.
Much like James Michael McAdoo and Leandro Barbosa, Clark will likely have a chance to prove his worth, particularly if the Warriors continue blowing out teams over the first three quarters as they did so often last season.

Golden State is still a terrific team, though winning another championship is never a sure thing.
