The Solano County coroner’s office was called to the scene of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo Tuesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Dispatchers started getting calls about a pedestrian in the roadway near Tennessee Street at 9:23 p.m., and a few minutes later they were notified that the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
The coroner’s office was called to the scene at 9:39 p.m. Further information about the victim was not immediately available.
A second collision involving two vehicles resulted in minor injuries, according to the CHP, but it does not appear that anyone has been transported to a hospital.
A Sig-alert was issued for the left lane of eastbound Highway 80 at 9:38 p.m. As of 10:45 p.m., there was no estimate for when it would be cancelled.
