Hit-and-run suspect drags woman after Bayshore fender-bender

A hit-and-run driver dragged a 65-year-old woman from the side of a vehicle Friday morning in San Francisco’s Bayview District causing the woman to suffer life-threatening injuries, police said.

At about 11:45 a.m. Friday, the suspect driving a blue Mazda MPV, apparently backed into the victim’s vehicle in the 200 block of Bayshore Boulevard, according to police.

Both parties exited their vehicles but then the driver of the suspect vehicle, described as a man in his 40s or 50s, got into his vehicle and attempted to drive off.

However, as the man drove away, the woman grabbed onto the window of the suspect’s vehicle.

She was dragged from the vehicle for a block and suffered life-threatening injuries to her head. She was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with a skull fracture and brain bleed, police said.

The suspect did not stop his vehicle and fled the scene. No suspects have been arrested and the assault remains under investigation.
