A 45-year-old man died in a head-on collision Saturday in Stanford, California Highway Patrol officials said.
A 2009 Nissan Versa and 2012 Volkswagen Passat collided at about 7 p.m. on Junipero Serra Boulevard between Stanford Avenue and Campus Drive, CHP officials said.
The man, who’s name has not been released, was driving south on Junipero Serra Boulevard when his Nissan crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with the Volkswagen, CHP officials said.
The man died at the collision site and the female driver suffered major injuries that required treatment at Stanford University Hospital, according to CHP officials.
Junipero Serra Boulevard between Stanford Avenue and Campus Drive was closed for about three hours while officers conducted an investigation, CHP officials said.
