A Marina man was arrested Friday in Pebble Beach on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine after deputies said he was reportedly “howling at the moon.”
Police said Michael Shawn Sobel, 44, was under the influence of methamphetamine and in possession of methamphetamine when officers came into contact with him Friday night.
Deputies responded at 10:22 p.m. to 4013 Los Altos Drive in Pebble Beach to a report of a possibly intoxicated man, identified as Sobel, who was “howling at the moon” near a vehicle turnout.
Deputies said Sobel was also on felony probation.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Monterey County Jail.
