Police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting death on Mason Street in San Francisco.

Officers responded at 8:08 p.m. to the 100 block of Mason Street on a report of a possible shooting victim and located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper torso, police said.
Officers attempted CPR on the woman, but she died at the scene, police said.
Officers were able to identify a person of interest in the case, and that person was located and transported to the Tenderloin police station, police said.
