A body was found Wednesday morning in a lake near Livermore where crews have been searching since Friday for a boater who was lost when his boat capsized, an East Bay Regional Park District spokeswoman said.
Authorities could not immediately confirm whether the body found this morning in Lake Del Valle was the missing boater, identified as Salesforce IT contractor Raghavendra Indugula, 31, of San Francisco.
Indugula was visiting Lake Del Valle as part of a team-building activity with his Salesforce co-workers. They were being shuttled across the lake in multiple groups at about 7 p.m. Friday when the boat started filling with water, according to park district spokeswoman Carolyn Jones.
The passengers jumped from the boat and started swimming to shore, but when they arrived Indugula had disappeared, Jones said.
The water reaches depths of 50 feet where the boaters abandoned ship, complicating search efforts. Crews searched over the weekend and through Monday and resumed this morning after taking a break on Tuesday, Jones said.
