Pair shot during pre-dawn robbery

Two men were injured during a shooting early Saturday morning in San Francisco’s La Lengua neighborhood, police said Monday.

At about 6:15 a.m. Saturday, the two men were sitting in a parked vehicle near the intersection of 30th Street and San Jose Avenue when a male suspect approached and attempted to rob them, according to police.

Both victims told the suspect that they didn’t have any money and the suspect then walked away. The victims apparently then started walking in the direction of the suspect, who fired a gun at them, striking them both, police said.

One of the victims, a man in his 20s, suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound to his abdomen, police said.

The other victim, a man in his 30s, suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh and is expected to survive, according to police.

Both victims were transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment.

While no suspects have been arrested, police have said the suspects, described as two males and a female, may be associated with a gray Chevy Malibu.

The shooting and attempted robbery remain under investigation, police said.
