California Highway Patrol officers have closed the northbound State Highway 238 off-ramp to East 14th Street in unincorporated Alameda County, following an officer-involved shooting this morning, according a sheriff’s spokesman.
A suspect has died as a result of the shooting, spokesman Sgt. J.D. Nelson said.
CHP officials first announced the closure on Twitter at about 4:30 a.m.
CHP officials had briefly closed the highway’s northbound lanes, to allow officers onto the highway, but have since reopened the lanes.
CHP officials did not provide an estimated time for when the off-ramp would reopen.
