The collision occurred just after 5 p.m. at Pine and Jones streets, according to police.
The bicyclist was riding south on Jones Street when he allegedly failed to stop at a red light and struck a vehicle traveling west on Pine Street, police said.
The bicyclist, a 22-year-old man, went airborne and landed on a 28-year-old man riding a scooter west on Pine. The bicyclist suffered cuts to his chest, face and elbow and internal injuries, while the man on the scooter suffered a broken shoulder, according to police.
Both were taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment and are expected to recover from their injuries, police said.
