The incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. at the East Meadow Drive crossing, near Alma Street, according to Caltrain officials.
More than 220 passengers were onboard the train involved in the incident. No one was injured as a result of the crash, Caltrain officials said.
Passengers were able to board a relief train.
The incident caused some delays, as all trains were forced to share a single track, Caltrain officials said.
Crews pushed the train involved in the incident off the main track and returned it to the main facility for repair.
Caltrain officials said the incident should not affect this morning’s commute.
