Two suspects in a 2012 armed robbery at a jewelry store in Los Gatos were taken into custody in Oklahoma City last week, according to the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Department.
Police in Oklahoma City arrested Willie Thompson, 51, and Melvin Andrew, 48, of Oklahoma City on Wednesday and are awaiting extradition to California, police said.
On Nov. 27, 2012, Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police responded to an armed robbery at Blacy’s Fine Jewelers at 51 University Ave.
Police said two armed suspects wearing masks entered the store and stole an undisclosed amount of jewelry at gunpoint.
During the ongoing investigation in 2013, detectives received a tip from the State of Oklahoma Narcotics Interdiction Task Force that led to the recovery of evidence related to the robbery, police said.
Last month, Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police detectives obtained information that led to the identification of Thompson and Andrew as suspects.
They were located by Oklahoma City police officers and taken into custody.
