The Brentwood Library is looking for adults and teens to volunteer as after-school homework helpers.
An orientation has been scheduled for Sept. 30 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the library for interested volunteers.
Tutors and teens can gain valuable experience that looks good on college and job applications, according to library officials.
To RSVP online, visit ccclib.org/programs. Interested volunteers can also RSVP at the library and can pick up a volunteer application from the front desk.
Volunteers will need to be dependable, comfortable working with children, and be familiar with math, Algebra II, English, History and Science.
Volunteers will be asked to work at least one two-hour shift per week, sometime between the hours of 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.
Adults must be finger-printed and complete a LiveScan background check before they can begin volunteering.
