A woman was shot and killed by her husband in the Tara Hills neighborhood of unincorporated San Pablo Thursday afternoon, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the 2100 block of Galway Road around 3:18 p.m. today on a report of a shooting, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Jimmy Lee.
Deputies found a 26-year-old woman with gunshot wounds, and performed CPR until firefighters and paramedics arrived. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene, Lee said.
Deputies detained the woman’s husband as a suspect in the shooting.
The identities of the woman and her husband have not yet been released.
